Hungry? Drexel Town Square has got you covered.
Pizza Man will be joining the list of dining options to be available at Drexel Town Square. Pizza Man management announced on April 11 it will open a 5,000-square-foot, 200-seat restaurant on the south end of Drexel Town Square facing the new Oak Creek public library and Oak Creek City Hall. It also will have a patio seating 120. It is expected to be open in fall. Rinka Chung Architecture Inc. will design the new restaurant. Pizza Man is locally owned and also has locations in Milwaukee and Wauwatosa.
“I think people are going to like it,” said Oak Creek Mayor Steve Scaffidi. “We’ve had some really great partners come in. We’re trying to find the right mix.”
Pizza Man joins the Water Street Brewery, BelAir Cantina, Chick-fil-A and the Chocolate Factory on the list of restaurants that have already opened or plan to open locations at Drexel Town Square.
“We’re elated that Pizza Man is going to be joining the Drexel Town Square community,” said Jerry Franke, president – WISPARK LLC. “We’re really pleased to secure these outstanding restaurants.”
“The location is desirable because it is highly accessible with direct access to Howell Avenue which runs directly through the heart of Oak Creek into Racine County, Drexel Avenue which runs directly west into Milwaukee’s southwest communities, and is literally just east of the interstate system with on and off ramps at Drexel,” said Scott Lurie, managing member for Pizza Man restaurants. “We are excited about being a member of the Oak Creek community and near a number of favorable neighboring businesses, apartments and families. The location is a blank canvas that allows us to recreate the same Pizza Man atmosphere that patrons have come to enjoy.”
In addition to the news about Pizza Man, more dining options are coming to Drexel Town Square as well. The Oak Creek Plan Commission approved an application April 12 by Northbrook, Ill.-based GMX Real Estate Group to construct a 10,300-square-foot multi-tenant building that will house national Mexican, burger, sandwich and yogurt chain restaurants. The featured tenants will be announced in the future.
The building will be immediately west of the Chick-Fil-A restaurant that opened on Drexel Avenue this spring. Construction is expected to start later this year and would open in summer 2017, according to Andrew Goodman, co-manager of GMX Real Estate.
WISPARK LLC, the real estate development subsidiary of WEC Energy Group is the master developer for this site. The property is owned by One West Drexel LLC, which is a public/private partnership of the City and the developer designed to oversee the development of the property. Other entities that are part of the development team include Zilber Property Group, Ramboll Environ, GRAEF, Rinka Chung Architects, KM Development Corp. and Mid-America Real Estate Group.
